Some signify that your family is a gift to you as you are to them and others that family happiness is what really matters in life. These wonderful quotes will restore your faith and hope in family. Some will inspire you, some will motivate you, some will make you laugh and some will make you cry.
Everyone who knows me personally knows that I love quotes…all kinds of quotes. Numerous quotes have served as a source of encouragement to me at various seasons in my life. Because of my love and passion for my family and our family reunions, I have a special affinity for family quotes. And let’s keep in real, family quotations and forgiveness quotes go hand in hand. In a family, we must learn to forgive, forget, apologize, make amends, restore relationships and walk in peace. Yes, a family reunion should be filled with food and fun, but never forget or lose track of the main idea, primary focus and central goal which is to foster love, unity and bonding. A family is like team where there is no ‘me’, but ‘we’. Click here for some of my favorite team building quotes. Mix and blend these in with the family quotes. View your family as a team…and remember that team work starts with acknowledging that everyone belongs together and is committed to each other. While they may seem small or insignificant, these family quotations speak volumes.
So be sure to include and incorporate some of these great family quotations into your family reunion. You’ll be surprised at the positive responses you’ll receive. Three years ago, I was involved an horrfic hit and run motor vehicle accident. Subsequently, I had to undergo neck surgery and had to totally depend on family and friends for several months to help and assist me with so many things…things that we often take for granted in life (feeding me, lifting me up, driving me around, etc). When our family reunion came around that following year, I put together a video presentation which was a compliation and little snippets of all of our past family reunions which I narrated. I included a picture of myself in the hospital bed being fed by a family member and sited the following family quote in the narration: “No man on his death bed ever looked up into the eyes of his friend and family and said, “I wish I’d spend more time at the office.” That one family quotation had a profound affect on my family. Several family members approached me after that reunion event and many called and/or emailed me later stating what an impact that very simple family quotation had on them.
Family quotations can be used for presentations, speeches, invitations, postcards, announcements, banners, toasts, plays, skits, t-shirts, decorations, gifts, plagues, etc…the list is endless. In addition to the aforementioned, I always include a family quotes section or page in each of our family reunion souvenir journals. I very simpy title that page/section “Quotes on Family.”
Be creative and sprinkle family quotations and other related quotes throughout your reunion.
